Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider, we are confident that we have a horse and trail to suit you.

Our guides, horses and outfitters are well trained, reliable and eager to share their knowledge of the area.

Before all rides, you will be matched with a compatible horse and given a brief list of the "Laws of the Land".

Rafter Six has:

  • 1 hour, 2 hour, Half day (3.5 hour & snack), All Day (7 hour & lunch), Adventure and Intermediate Trail Rides (1.5 hour);
  • Overnight Packtrips (1-5 nights).
  • For yer lil' buckaroos - Pony Rides! For cowboys and cowgirls in training - Riding Lessons!
  • For frequent riders or folks traveling through ...we have a horse and a trail just for you!

Intermediate Ride (1.5hr) $77 per person
Adventure Ride (1.5hr) $79 per person

One Hour Private Lesson $75 per person
30min Lesson & 1hr Trail Ride $77 per person

*For a more comfortable riding experience, we recommend long pants, boots with a heel, and clothing suited to the various weather conditions. Closed toe shoes are a must. High impact helmets are also recommended for all riders and required for riders under the age of 18 years. Riders may bring their own helmet or rent one on site. Extra suggestions - Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, camera etc. Please make sure all items are secure on you.

Pony Rides

Take your little tyke on a pony ride. Lead the horse around while your little one gets to enjoy the views from on top a horse. Your youngster will be suited with a well mannered, calm horse.

Half hour pony ride – $19

Riding Lessons

Get a great introduction to the western horse with this informative session, then try your skills outside of the arena on a trail ride! Lessons available for beginner to intermediate riders.

One hour lesson – $74

Intermediate Ride

For those that desire a bit more challenge and speed than the traditional trail ride, an hour and a half intermediate ride is sure to please! Experinced riders only!
$77 - 1.5hour

Adventure Ride

The adventure ride is sure to get your heart pumping! Steeper hills, thicker bushes and more speed for those horsemen that need an adrenalin rush. MUST be a competent rider. $79 - 1.5hour


Wagon/Carriage Rides

green wagonSee the countryside on a Wagon or mountain meadow Carriage! Wagon Rides are fun for the whole family and popular for larger groups! Laugh, Sing, and be Merry! Beautiful and romantic carriages are available for weddings or special celebrations. Perhaps it could be a great way to "pop the question" in a traditional Vis a Vis type carriage with the magnificent mountain scenery!

Overnight Packtrips

horse lookThinking about camping this weekend?? Do something different this time with friends and family. An overnight trip on horseback may be just what you're looking for. Hit the trail with an experienced wrangler and wilderness packer. Experience the backcountry - where wildlife is abundant, flowers are beautiful and there is so much to explore! Don't forget your camera!

There is no better way to start your Cowboy Adventure than with a True Hearty Western Breakfast served hot and fresh in the great outdoors! Enjoy your cup of joe around a blazing fire.

Cowboy Supper Ride

Ride into the sunset with an early evening horseback ride and a hearty western supper on the banks of the Kananaskis River! Great fun for everyone! Prime Alberta beef steak and Rocky Mountain trout are grilled over a campfire and served with all the fixin's. An experience that shouldn't be missed!

Rodeo's

egg spoon raceFun Tyme Rodeo

The Fun Tyme Rodeo is designed for group participation and follows the "gymkhana" style of competition. Six horses and riders are organized into six events. Rafter Six guides coordinate volunteer riders and provide explanations of each event. The involvement from the onlookers in the bleachers helps to provide an atmosphere of fun and laughter. Prizes are awarded for the winners of each event.

Cowboy College

Learn the ways of the cowboy! This interactive group activity will demonstrate and teach about things like anatomy of the horse and saddle, learn how to crack a real stock whip, rope with a lariat and much more! Your group will be on their way to earning their spurs!

rodeoSpectator Rodeo

Spectator rodeos are just that - for the spectators. Up close and personal best describes the rodeo action at Rafter Six Ranch. The outdoor arena and bleacher seating are ideal for your corporate gathering to really experience the sights, sounds, action… and yes, even smells of rough stock rodeo. A rare opportunity these days!

The Spectator Rodeo is made up a wide range of events that test competitors in every way. They can include but are not limited to: Bull Riding, Bareback Riding, Saddle bronc, Steer Wrestling, Tie-down Roping, Team Roping, Ladies Barrel Race, Breakaway Roping, and Steer Undecorating.
