Rafter
Six Ranch Resort Old West
Guest Regulations
Customer
Service had a whole different meaning back in the Old West,
and anything that annoyed Innkeepers or cost them money
was immediately forbidden.
Yes,
the world was rather uncomplicated back in 1873, and these
Guest Regulations are provided for your amusement.

Guests will be provided with breakfast
and dinner, but must rustle their own lunch - provided it's
not one of our steers.
Spiked boots and spurs must be removed
at night before retiring. Dogs are not allowed in the bunks,
but may sleep underneath. Only one dog allowed to a room.
Candles, hot water, and other luxuries
charged extra; also the same for towels and soap. Towels changed
weekly.
Insect powder for sale at the Bar.
Crap, Chuck Luck, Stud Horse Poker, and
Black Jack games are run by the management of Rafter Six Ranch.
Two or more persons must sleep in one
bed when requested to do so.
Baths are provided free down at the river,
but bathers must furnish their own soap and towel.
Only regularly registered guests, or relatives
of the management, will be allowed the privilege of sleeping
on the Bar Room floor.
Guests without baggage must sleep in the
corral, and board elsewhere until their luggage arrives.
No checks cashed for anybody. In God we
trust, all others must pay cash or gold dust. Good whiskey
or horses considered.
Spurs are forbidden in the dining room.
Any Cowboy caught scuffing the furniture will be evicted and
his saddle bags seized in compensation.
All guests are required to arise before
6 AM. This is imperative as the sheets are needed for table
cloths.
Tips must NOT be given directly to the
staff or wranglers; leave them with the proprietors and we
will distribute them, if necessary.
No complaints regarding the quality or
quantity of the meals will be allowed; those who do not like
the provender will get out - or will be put out. Assault on
the cook is not only prohibited, but most assuredly ill-advised:
She's a crack pistol shot.
Quarrelsome or boisterous persons, or
those who without provocation shoot off their guns or other
explosive weapons, will not be allowed to remain in the lodge.
Should you or your luggage find yourself on the other side
of the fence, you may consider to have received your notice
to leave.
