View one of the biggest log structures in the world - Rafter Six Ranch Lodge.
Founded in the 1880s by Colonel Walker of the NorthWest Mounted Police (NWMP - todays current Royal Canadian Mounted Police - the RCMP.)  Rafter Six Ranch Resort was originally a horse ranch to breed and supply mounts for the NWMP.  The original horse brand (seen at the top left of the above picture of the resort) a half diamond over six,  commonly refered to as a rafter six in branding terminology. It was common during the old west days for a ranch to be called by the brand it used - thus Rafter Six Ranch.
