Rafter Six Lodge

Standing three stories high, this beautifully crafted log
structure is one of the largest in the World. Designed in
1977 by the current owners, Stan and Gloria Cowley , the
Lodge opened for business in 1978. The Lodge was built on
to the original log lodge and houses 18 unique guest rooms,
a common room, restaurant, lounge, and gift shop. For
your peace of mind, the rooms have no televisions or phones.

History
of the Ranch Horses
are everywhere on the ranch, and are a constant reminder
of why the ranch came into being. In the 1880s the Northwest
Mounted Police were barely ten years old and were in constant
need of horses well suited to the rigors of the Alberta
weather - and that's how this world class horse ranch started.

at Rafter Six Ranch Resort
In
1954 Marilyn Monroe needed a vehicle for her Screen debut.
River of No Return, was the feature film chosen and
Robert Mitchum was signed to be her male co-star. Rafter
Six Ranch was one of the locations for this classic western
movie. Since then dozens of feature films, documentaries,
and television commercials have been shot at Rafter Six.
