Remembrance Day ~ In Flanders Field A Poem By John McRae
Canadian Patriot & Physician, Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae wrote this epic poem during the First World War after a friend and fellow soldier died and a funeral was held that he resided over. The poem, "In Flanders Field", has resounded with Canadians and has caught the attention of people worldwide for the imagery and emotion he evocatively painted with words for us all to see our common humanity. "In Flanders Fields" was first published on December 8, 1915 in the London magazine Punch. Sadly in 1918, Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae also lost his life due to the effects of the Great War. May We Always Remember and Honour The Memory of All Canadian, American, English, Irish, Scottish & Commonwealth Soldiers Who Have Sacrificed So Much For Our Freedoms. May They All Rest In Peace.
